Liability Claim Trends

With no real known reason why, we have seen fewer Liability claims against our Contractor clients and also our Social Club customers in the last 12 months.

However, although fewer claims in number, the actual size of the claim has increased substantially.

Several claims have only been reported to Insurers after a period of defensive negotiations by our clients which had failed. It has to be said that this is not the correct way to deal with any potential Liability claim either from employees or Third Parties.

You must advise incidents that ‘could give rise to a claim’ against you without delay. You most certainly must not enter into negotiations with the claimant as you may be prejudicing your Insurers position and hence voiding your policy cover.
